Outstanding Recent Contribution Award
The Sociology of Emotions Section invites submissions for the 2021 Outstanding Recent Contribution Award. In 2021, the award will be given to an article published between January 1, 2018, and December 31, 2020, that advances the sociology of emotions empirically, theoretically, or methodologically. Nominations must include the article and a nomination letter and should be sent to Kari Marie Norgaard at email@example.com by March 1, 2021. Self-nominations are welcome. The committee this year is: Kari Marie Norgaard (chair, University of Oregon), Kelly Bergstrand (University of Texas at Arlington), and Chana Teeger (London School of Economics).
Graduate Student Paper Award
The Sociology of Emotions Section invites submissions for the Graduate Student Paper Award. This award is given to the author(s) of the most outstanding article-length graduate student paper that contributes to the sociology of emotions empirically, theoretically, or methodologically. Authors of eligible papers must be graduate students at the time of the paper’s submission. Multiple authored papers are eligible for the award if all authors are graduate students. Both published and unpublished papers are eligible. The recipient(s) will receive $300. Please send a PDF version of the paper by March 1, 2021, to Susan Fisk at firstname.lastname@example.org. Self-nominations are welcome. The committee this year is: Susan Fisk (chair, Kent State University), Timothy Recuber (Smith College), and Jun Zhao (Georgia State University).
Lifetime Achievement Award
The 2021 award recipient has now been selected and will be presented with the award during the 2021 annual meeting.
