Andean Geographical Portrait

The portrait of the Andes is a challenging geographical undertaking.  It changes according to perspectives, techniques, circumstances and disseminating venues.   An attempt to capture the multivariate nature of neotropical mountains with an innovative technique is the preparation of a monographic style of descriptionn about Neotropical Montology, following the antological approach of Sarmiento (1988) when describing the Ecuadorian ecology by following an imaginary trip from the mountains to the sea.   Conceived as a primer on the subject, it will instill in the reader the notion of the transdisciplinary nature of Montology as applied to the Tropical Andes mountains and their tropandean landscapes.
